The "Modern Versailles" Project
Historical Grandeur Without the Dead Load
Stop Value-Engineering
Your Vision Due to Material Weight
You know the feeling. You design a magnificent French Chateau facade—massive cornices, rusticated stone blocks, deep arches. Then the structural engineer steps in and tells you the foundation and wood framing simply cannot support thousands of pounds of natural carved stone. Your vision gets sent to “value-engineering,” and you’re left with a pale shadow of your original design.
At Royal Foam Art Design, we say: Stop compromising. Let’s build exactly what you envisioned.
How We Transformed a
Standard Residence into a French Chateau
For this project, our task was to create the illusion of monumental masonry and intricate historical detailing for both the exterior and interior elevations. Using actual stone was completely out of the question due to structural constraints and budget limitations.
Our solution? Custom fabrication using high-density EPS architectural foam.
- Flawless Imitation: We manufactured faux stone facade panels, massive dentil cornices, balustrades, and exquisite dormer window surrounds.
- Polyurea Hard Coat Armor: To ensure the facade withstands the test of time, harsh weather, and accidental impacts, every exterior element was encapsulated in our proprietary elastomeric layer. This turns lightweight foam “stone” into a rock-hard, waterproof, and everlasting asset.
Look Closer. Your Brain Will Tell You It’s Carved Limestone
Pay attention to the intricate detailing on the floral oculus surrounds and the smooth flow of the interior arched vaults. Thanks to our 5-axis CNC routing and the meticulous hand-finishing by our artisans, we achieved unprecedented precision.
- Massive Load Reduction: Our elements are up to 90% lighter than architectural precast concrete or natural stone, saving the building’s structural integrity.
- Lightning-Fast Installation: What would have taken masons months to complete was installed by a standard crew in just a few weeks. The lightweight nature of EPS means you don’t need cranes or heavy lifting equipment on site.
- Cohesive Design Language: We seamlessly transitioned the palatial aesthetic from the exterior to the interior, creating deep arched doorways and massive ceiling crown moldings that carry the grand theme inside.
